Younger students need to learn about digital communication, literacy, and security.

Older students need to also be familiar with rights and responsibilities when writing research papers using digital sources.

Teach the acronym S.M.A.R.T.  (Safe, Materials, Accept, Reliable, Tell)

Digital citizenship goes beyond the knowledge of using technology. It also includes interactions between individuals. As the video below discusses, cyberbulling can occur. One way to lessen the number of students experiencing cyberbullying is to teach them how to set up privacy settings on social media. Lessons on self-respect and respect for others can also aid this issue.
